FAQ

FAQ's

  • Q1. What information do I need to give a mechanic to get a service quote?

    • Make, model and year of your vehicle, or the registration number if you're unsure.
    • In some cases we will need to know if your car is diesel, petrol, LPG or duel fuel.
    • The details of your last service, or alternatively, what service you are due for next by checking the service sticker on your windshield, or by checking your log book. If you have missed a service or services, let us know.
    • The amount of current kilometres your vehicle has done
  • Q2. If I drop in without a booking, will you be able to diagnose my vehicle today?

No. If you have not made a booking with us, we cannot look at your vehicle.  You will need to make a booking with one of our staff for the next available time.

  • Q3. If I have a problem with my car, what should I do?

    • Make sure you book your car in as soon as you can. Don't leave problems for too long as they can often cause more damage the longer you leave it - which can be more costly!
    • Give as much detail as you can. In some cases, a quick rundown of your repair history can also help if you are using a new mechanic.
    • Ask how much it will roughly cost you. All types of diagnostics vary in cost. By getting a rough indication, you are more prepared when it comes to your final bill.
    • ALWAYS ask for a quote before going ahead with repairs.
  • Q4. What if I have absolutely no service history and am unsure on what my car needs for a service?

We recommend getting a standard service and safety check done, at a minimum. If your vehicle requires anything extra, the mechanic can quote accordingly to get you up to scratch.

  • Q5. The meanings of "full service," "standard service," and "log book service."

    • Full Service: this is a major service and includes all filters, oil, brake flush, coolant flush, transmission service, diff oils, spark plugs [petrol model only] and safety check.
    • Standard Service: this is a minor service and includes oil, filter, cleaning of air filter and a full 50-point comprehensive safety check.
    • Log Book Service: this is a service that is recommended in your manufacturer log book, and varies depending on the amount of kilometres your car has done.
  • Q6. How do I make a booking?

You can make a booking by phoning 5443 7371.

  • Q7. What should I be asking when making a service booking?

    • What does the service include?
    • How long do you need my vehicle? (This will help you plan your day should your car need to go in for an extended period of time.)
    • How much will it cost?

And lastly, if you have any more questions about the work carried out on your car, don't be afraid to ask! There is no such thing as a silly question.
